Hello everyone and thank you for joining us on today’s podcast. Today’s topic comes from a very common question we receive a lot about people wanting to know how they can lose weight in certain areas of their body like their belly, arms or legs.

This concept is called “spot reduction” and is a very common request. There is a misconception about this idea of being able to lose weight in certain areas of your body that we think everyone deals with at one point in time. We can be very judgemental about our own bodies and it’s easy to see why we may feel that we have to lose weight in only certain parts.

But is this a good idea?

The way we lose weight when we are active has less to do about slimming down certain parts of our body and more to do with thinking of the body as one complete unit. We felt it was very important to talk about this issue when it comes to weight loss so we can shed some light on these misconceptions.

1). Some of the main reasons why we feel we want to work on only certain parts of our so we can lose weight there and not be concerned with other areas.

2). The important relationship between fat and muscle and how both of them are important when it comes to losing weight and feeling healthier overall.

4). Some great ways to help you measure your weight loss results that don’t necessarily involve having to step on a scale everyday.

5). How long you it should take (in general) for you to start seeing weight loss results in the areas you want to work on if you are exercising correctly and consistently as well as inheriting a healthy diet.
