At his most affluent, Franzese was generating an estimated five to eight million dollars per week from legal and illegal businesses. in 1986, Vanity Fair magazine named him one of the biggest money earners the mob had seen since Al Capone. At the age of 35, Fortune Magazine listed Michael Franzese as number 18 on its list of the "fifty most wealthy and powerful mafia bosses" just five places behind John Gotti. Today, this former "prince of the mafia" is a man on a mission determined to use the compelling experiences of his former life for the benefit of others seeking forgiveness and the redemptive power of God.
