Feast of Corpus Christi, also known as the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, celebrates the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. The Feast is traditionally celebrated on the Thursday following Trinity Sunday (which is 60 days after Easter). Thursday was specifically chosen because it is the day of the week that Jesus instituted the Holy Eucharist at the Last Supper. In the USA, Canada, and many other countries, it is observed on the Sunday following Trinity Sunday. This adjustment or Sunday transfer is purely for pastoral reasons, making it easier for the faithful to attend Mass and participate in processions without taking time off during the workweek.
