The Gospel of Matthew (Chapter 25) relates Jesus' teachings of the Parable of the Ten Bridesmaids, also known as the Parable of the Ten Virgins, comparing the kingdom of heaven to ten bridesmaids waiting for a bridegroom. The parable teaches that people should always be prepared and watchful for the coming of Christ.
