Hello and thank you for joining us for this week’s episode!

Mohammed Ali, Mike Tyson… and You!

Ok maybe not to that extent, but have you ever considered boxing as a great workout? If so then this episode is for you. Boxing or “shadow boxing” is a great exercise to consider if you are thinking about spicing up your weekly exercise routines. Shadow boxing is a great way to build up your hand – eye coordination as well as help build up your cardio vascular system. Here at SFWM we have some great routines that you can check out in both seated and standing formats if you aren’t familiar with cardio boxing.

No matter your age, fitness level or limitations, there is something for everyone when it comes to having fun with boxing workouts.

In This Episode You Will Learn:

1). What we really mean when we say “boxing workouts” and how “air boxing” or “shadow boxing” mimics the movements of real boxing and provides a great way to build mental and physical health.

2). Why it’s easy to get started with boxing exercises because it requires no equipment and you can do it in the comfort of your own home either standing or seated.

3). How Meredith designs her boxing workout routines and her approach to making them very accessible to anyone at any fitness level.

4). The differences between a shadow boxing workout and an “impact” style workout where you are striking a surface like a punching bag. Both can be beneficial but shadow boxing is preferred to help avoid injury.

5).  The empowering feeling you get after doing a boxing workout and how it makes you feel accomplished in a way that is unlike any other type of workout.
