Theodosius would embrace Christianity in a serious way, but not just Christianity in general, but a specific form of Christianity. Orthodox Catholic Trinitarian Christianity was Theodosius’ choice and he was going to use all of his power to push all other forms of the religion out of the picture. Not only that, he was going to push out any and all other religious faiths, making Trinitarian Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire.
